Polarized Sunglasses

Polarized lenses are lenses that are made to decrease glare along with providing ultimate UV protection. Glare occurs when the sun reflects off of objects such as car hoods and water making it difficult to see. Polarization makes it easier for you to see what you want to see without being bothered by the glare. Most sunglasses purchased off the shelf in stores will only have some UV protection and often are not polarized. High quality polarized lenses paired with the right sunglass frame can give you the best UV protection for you eyes and surrounding skin. At Wendell Eye Care, we offer many styles of sunglasses with polarized lenses for every member of your family.

Learn About Costa® Sunglasses

Prescription Sunglasses

Prescription sunglasses allow you to enjoy clear vision while protecting your eyes from the suns harmful rays. We recommend that everyone who wears a pair of prescription eyeglasses have a pair of prescription sunglasses. While giving you clear vision, prescription sunglasses also protect your eyes from diseases like cataracts, macular degeneration, dry eyes, and cancers of the eye and eyelids. At Wendell Eye Care, we care about keeping your eyes protected and are proud to offer 50% off a pair of prescription sunglasses when purchased with prescription eyeglasses.

Benefits of UV Protection

UV, or ultra violet rays, are non visible, high energy light waves that come from the sun and are very damaging to the eyes and skin. UV rays can damage your eyes directly by looking into the sun but also indirectly by reflections from sand, water, and snow. We at Wendell Eye Care, think it is just as important to wear UV protection for you eyes as it is to wear sunscreen for your skin, and we make sure that all of our sunglasses have a minimum of 100% UV protection, including protection from UV-A and UV-B rays. We think it is especially important that children start wearing sunglasses at an early age, due to the fact that we get 80% of our exposure to the sun before we are 18 years old.
